blinded by sight

Blinded by sight

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

For we walk by faith, not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7).

For me, it is like I am blinded by what I see: the difficult circumstances, the trying relationships, and facing what seems impossible. When I focus on these things, I lose hope. I grow discouraged. My heart becomes frozen and unfeeling, and heavy-yokes of oppression and despair drag me down.

Jesus constantly reminds me to keep my eyes fixed on Him; to walk by faith, and not by sight.

When I lift my cares, concerns, conflicts, and circumstances to Jesus Christ, I regain my sight through faith. I ask for strength to move forward, courage to face what is before me, wisdom to make good decisions, and grace, love, and forgiveness to press on with others through it.

Walking by faith and keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus, I live in a peace-filled reality; my life is filled with hope, purpose, and endless possibilities. Jesus spurs me on to live in the purpose and destiny God has intended for my life.
